Tabata with Squat Jumps
There is a very interesting mini-workout that takes four minutes called "Tabata". I do tabata using jump squats sometimes without weight. Here is a brief outline of how it works.
- One rep is a "squat jump", a full squat without weight or barbell, followed by a rise past standing to a position where the body is straight vertically and the feet have left the floor because of the momentum of rising.
- One round is 20 seconds of repetitions followed by 10 seconds of rest.
- The exercise consists of 8 rounds, totaling four minutes of duration.
- Track the number of reps performed in each round. The minimum number is the score.
You have to pace yourself because if you don't, you'll be exhausted at the end and do a round with only a few reps, getting a lame score.
